Are there any side effects to using organic soap?
With some anti-bacterial soaps, the chemicals used in production can cause rashes and irritation. They’re also quite drying over prolonged use.
Organic soaps are gentler on the skin, have no drying chemicals and you can add your favourite antibacterial essential oil to personalise it. Just be careful if you have any allergies.
Organic shampoo: fact and fiction
It doesn’t strip away colour: A lot of conventional shampoos contain sulphates which are harsh cleansers, as a result, they tend to strip away colour. Organic shampoos contain only natural ingredients, no chemicals, so they shouldn’t strip away colour as much.
They don’t clean your hair as well: The chemicals in regular shampoos are much harsher and designed to clean your hair and scalp completely, often at the expense of your natural hair oils. Organic shampoos aren’t nearly as harsh and don’t leave as much residue. You may also find that your hair is oilier or itchy after the first few washes, but your hair follicles and scalp are just getting used to the gentler formula. Don’t worry, your hair is clean and your natural hair oils are just adjusting.
