Origin: India
An Ayurvedic herb that is also known as Herpestis monniera, Water Hyssop or Jalanimba. As Gotu Kola's alternative name is Brahmi in the Northern part of India, always check the Latin names to differentiate and identify. (e.g. Gotu Kola: Centella asiatica/ Hydrocotyle asiatica and Brahmi: Bacopa monnieri)
Health perks:
Brahmi is a nootropic that improves cognition, but also helps to prevent and protect cognitive degeneration. On the other hand, enhances memory and channels concentration.
Additionally, as an adaptogen, Brahmi helps to relieve stress from the mind and body, resulting in elevated resilience. This herb therefore becomes useful during nervous exhaustion. As it stimulates serotonin production, it becomes an ally in low moments and depressive phases. In neurodevelopmental conditions, it can be a useful as a rejuvenating tonic.
With regards to its cognitive influence, Brahmi can also help with sleep, because of its ability to wind down mental turbulence, as well as being a sedative. That said, this effect is useful in anxiety and restlessness too.
If in need of a metal detox (metals can cause brain fog and other imbalances), Brahmi can help chelate and guide the metals/ toxins out of the body due to its diuretic herbal action. The herb lowers inflammatory markers from having a boosting effect on the immune system. In correspondence, Brahmi can be used to bring about clarity from fungal conditions and other infections like cystitis.
A paste created from the powder of Brahmi and a base oil, can be created and focused on the chest of the individual to ease and remedy respiratory conditions, like asthma, bronchitis and chronic coughing. Ideally the paste should be covered by a material to insulate and keep in place. The same paste can be applied to the forehead, to ease tension and a headache.

- Express orders must be placed before 1pm on any weekday

Returns
Here at Baldwins it is our policy to give 100% satisfaction. We do know however, that there may be the odd occasion when you wish to return items. Below you will find an outline of our returns policy.

If, for any reason, you are unhappy with an item you have received, you may return it within 28 days, unopened and in its original condition, to our Freepost address (below). Upon receipt, we will be happy to give you a full refundfor the item.
Alternatively, you may wish to exchange the item for another. Please note that post and packing costs are non-refundable.
Returning An Item
To return an item, please package in its original wrapping (if possible) and provide a note outlining your name, address, order number and reason for returning.
If your item is under 20 Kg and is smaller than 61cm (L) x 46cm (W) x 46cm (D) then you can use our Free Royal Mail 48 Hour Tracked service by heading here and filling in the appropriate details:

This service will generate a label that you can either print at home or take with you to the post office for them to print.
You will need your order number which is the 6 digit number sent out on your order dispatch email. (If you have any trouble finding this, do give us a call and we can happily find it for you).
Once orders are returned, we aim to process them within 72 hours and (if required) notify you by mail when we have processed your refund and ship any replacements out as soon as possible.
If your item is over 20 Kg or larger than the specified size (or too heavy for you to take to the post office) please call us and we can arrange collection with one of our courier partners.
