Origin: EU
Heartsease is also known as 'Wild Pansy', and it has other names like: Johnny Jump Up and Tickle-my-fancy, playful nicknames moreso. The name: Heartsease, derives from the meaning of "to soothe (/to ease) the heart", therefore linking it to love and emotional healing.
The flowers of the Viola variety can be used to decorate salads and adorn on desserts.
Health perks:
Heartsease has mucilage, which is beneficial towards soothing irritated tissue of the respiratory system. Respectively, the herb is an expectorant that helps with chesty coughs, encouraging the loosening (thanks to the mucilage) and the release of phlegm. The spasmodic reflex that comes with persistent or even convulsive coughing is eased. This herb is suited for children with respiratory imbalances due to Heartsease's gentle effect.
Particularly used in chronic inflammatory skin ailments, such as eczema and acne. Heartsease supports the elimination of metabolic waste through the skin, whilst reducing inflammation and irritation. This herb is just as good used internally, as externally due to its vulnerary (wound healing) and depurative (blood cleansing) herbal actions. It has been used for cradle cap and any other inflammatory skin imbalances that has an eruptive expression.
In addressing the blood, Heartsease correspondingly also supports the heart. This is influenced by the flavonoid: 'rutin' that works with integrity of capillaries and encouraging healthy vascular tone. Therefore, this helps with ailments such as easy bruising and poor circulation.
A mild diuretic that enhances the excretion of waste via the kidneys, supporting the detoxification process.
Although, not at the forefront of its qualities, Heartsease can gently ease restlessness and anxiety in children.

- Express orders must be placed before 1pm on any weekday

Here at Baldwins it is our policy to give 100% satisfaction. We do know however, that there may be the odd occasion when you wish to return items. Below you will find an outline of our returns policy.

If, for any reason, you are unhappy with an item you have received, you may return it within 28 days, unopened and in its original condition, to our Freepost address (below). Upon receipt, we will be happy to give you a full refundfor the item.
Alternatively, you may wish to exchange the item for another. Please note that post and packing costs are non-refundable.
Returning An Item
To return an item, please package in its original wrapping (if possible) and provide a note outlining your name, address, order number and reason for returning.
If your item is under 20 Kg and is smaller than 61cm (L) x 46cm (W) x 46cm (D) then you can use our Free Royal Mail 48 Hour Tracked service by heading here and filling in the appropriate details:

This service will generate a label that you can either print at home or take with you to the post office for them to print.
You will need your order number which is the 6 digit number sent out on your order dispatch email. (If you have any trouble finding this, do give us a call and we can happily find it for you).
Once orders are returned, we aim to process them within 72 hours and (if required) notify you by mail when we have processed your refund and ship any replacements out as soon as possible.
If your item is over 20 Kg or larger than the specified size (or too heavy for you to take to the post office) please call us and we can arrange collection with one of our courier partners.
