In Scotland, white Heather is considered as a good luck charm, and the flowers are usually involved in the bridal bouquets.
There is a saying in Norway: "Where one can find white Heather, there has been a crime" and this illustrates a completely different connotation to Scotland's perspective.
Back on a dandy note, Heather in Gaelic is known as 'fraoch' and considered a plant of protection, of good fortune and will.
In the Middle Ages, Heather would be mixed with malt to make 'gruit', this was way before Hops came in as a flavour.
Health perks:
Traditionally, Heather flowers are used to purify the blood. Used as poultices for skin imbalances, reducing inflammation and encouraging wound healing. Heather can also be used in baths as an infused soak to soother and relax the skin.
In Wales, traditional use included tea infusions with regards to the lymphatic system as a diuretic for cleansing the urinary system. Within Theatrum Botanicum (written by John Parkinson, British Herbalist), Heather is explored for its many uses. Taking Heather as a diuretic and antilithic, for 30 days, was said to help break down kidney stones and encourage removal. With that, would also reduce inflammation with regards to the urinary system.
Flavonoid and phenolic compounds in Heather work on a cellular level to modulate the immune system, reducing oxidative stress.
Heather helps to address gastrointestinal imbalances, such as stomach ulcers, indigestion, and useful towards calming acid reflux.
This herb can also be used for easing irritability, calming anxiety and resolving sleep disorders.

Returns
Here at Baldwins it is our policy to give 100% satisfaction. We do know however, that there may be the odd occasion when you wish to return items. Below you will find an outline of our returns policy.
28 Day No-Quibble Guarantee
If, for any reason, you are unhappy with an item you have received, you may return it within 28 days, unopened and in its original condition, to our Freepost address (below). Upon receipt, we will be happy to give you a full refundfor the item.
Alternatively, you may wish to exchange the item for another. Please note that post and packing costs are non-refundable.
Returning An Item
To return an item, please package in its original wrapping (if possible) and provide a note outlining your name, address, order number and reason for returning.
If your item is under 20 Kg and is smaller than 61cm (L) x 46cm (W) x 46cm (D) then you can use our Free Royal Mail 48 Hour Tracked service by heading here and filling in the appropriate details:

This service will generate a label that you can either print at home or take with you to the post office for them to print.
You will need your order number which is the 6 digit number sent out on your order dispatch email. (If you have any trouble finding this, do give us a call and we can happily find it for you).
Once orders are returned, we aim to process them within 72 hours and (if required) notify you by mail when we have processed your refund and ship any replacements out as soon as possible.
If your item is over 20 Kg or larger than the specified size (or too heavy for you to take to the post office) please call us and we can arrange collection with one of our courier partners.
