It is estimated that 40% of the population over the age of 50 is deficient in vitamin D. Recently, researchers have had a renewed interest in vitamin D, finding it provides various benefits to health not previously known. Vitamin D helps maintain healthy bones by stimulating the absorption of calcium in the body.
Without it, the body is unable to utilize the calcium supplied via the diet or supplements.
Vitamin D is commonly referred to as the "sunshine vitamin," but many people do not spend enough time outdoors to obtain this benefit.
The body manufactures vitamin D when the skin is exposed to sunlight; therefore, it is recommended that people living in northern latitudes, not exposed to the sunlight or who use sunscreen should supplement with the nutrient.
Even though the RDA is set at 400 IU, many experts now recommend up to 1,000 IU, especially for those at risk for deficiency such as the elderly, African-Americans, night shift workers, those living in the northern latitudes or that lack of sun exposure, and those who do not consume enough vitamin D-rich foods. Contains 1,000 IU of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) per softgel.

- Express orders must be placed before 1pm on any weekday
- Orders placed after 1pm on Thursday will be delivered by 1pm on the following Monday
- There must be someone available to sign for receive the package between 7am 1pm on the day of delivery

Returns
Here at Baldwins it is our policy to give 100% satisfaction. We do know however, that there may be the odd occasion when you wish to return items. Below you will find an outline of our returns policy.

If, for any reason, you are unhappy with an item you have received, you may return it within 28 days, unopened and in its original condition, to our Freepost address (below). Upon receipt, we will be happy to give you a full refundfor the item.
Alternatively, you may wish to exchange the item for another. Please note that post and packing costs are non-refundable.
Returning An Item
To return an item, please package in its original wrapping (if possible) and provide a note outlining your name, address, order number and reason for returning.
If your item is under 20 Kg and is smaller than 61cm (L) x 46cm (W) x 46cm (D) then you can use our Free Royal Mail 48 Hour Tracked service by heading here and filling in the appropriate details:

This service will generate a label that you can either print at home or take with you to the post office for them to print.
You will need your order number which is the 6 digit number sent out on your order dispatch email. (If you have any trouble finding this, do give us a call and we can happily find it for you).
Once orders are returned, we aim to process them within 72 hours and (if required) notify you by mail when we have processed your refund and ship any replacements out as soon as possible.
If your item is over 20 Kg or larger than the specified size (or too heavy for you to take to the post office) please call us and we can arrange collection with one of our courier partners.
