Baldwins Copal Gum Sourced from various species of trees belonging to Leguminosae in South America, the West Indies and Africa; Copal Gum is a yellowish/brownish resin that is regularly added to varnishes to protect wooden furniture from staining and damage. Known to form a hardening, gummy resin, Copal is deeply aromatic causing it to be used ceremonially as incense by the pre-Columbians.
