Rubbing a maceration of fresh Herb Robert on the skin is used as a natural tactic to repel  insects, especially the ones that bite!

Health perks:

This herb is astringent as a result of its high concentration in tannins, especially the gallotannins and ellagitannins. This makes Herb Robert appropriate to safeguard inflamed mucous membranes and reduce hypersecretion. This is especially adequate for soothing gastric and peptic ulcers. Furthermore, it is also a suitable astringent for diarrheal episodes, and a great antibacterial due to its broad-spectrum factor.

Among Native American communities, this plant has been exercised in the healing of skin wounds and burns, whilst also preventing excessive bleeding. Therefore, it can also be useful with managing nosebleeds.

In early European traditions,  Herb Robert was commonly known for its role as a mouth wash to relieve sore gums and manage gum disease. The herb can be prepared into a paste and used for the treatment of cold sores, and used as a gargle to soothe sore throats.

With regards to the female gynaecological system, the herb is relevant in resolving irregular bleeding and counselling menorrhagia.
