Lime Flowers / Linden Blossom (not related to the citrus fruit of the same name) is a flowering, deciduous tree that commonly thrives on the lime rich soils of the south-west UK (alos growing in Europe, Asia & North America.

Traditionally used in a tea as a nerve tonic, it is commonly believed an infusion of lime flowers combats anxiety with little report of toxicity.

Lime flowers have a diaphoretic effect when taken as a tea (diaphoretics induce a mild fever) which can increase sweating as the body counteracts to maintain the optimal temperature. This effect may have led some to believe that lime fowers also offers de-toxifying properties.
