Black Sesame Seeds have a very similar flavour to their white counterpart and as a result of having their hulls intact, lend a slightly nuttier and bitter taste to the sweet, distinctive Sesame flavour.
In most cases white and black Sesame seeds are interchangeable, though these seeds are best paired with savoury dishes rather than desserts.
