Sweet Orange

Aromatherapeutic benefits often associated with Sweet Orange: mood boosting, stress relief, anxiety reduction, helping with mental clarity, energising the mind and spirit.

It also has cleansing, freshening and mild antimicrobial/antiseptic properties, which is nice if you want a candle to both smell fresh and help purify the air.

In scent layering terms, Sweet Orange works as a top note — meaning it gives that immediate “pop” of freshness when the candle is lit.

May Chang

May Chang oil (from Litsea cubeba) offers a bright, zesty, citrus herb/lemon sherbet aroma — a bit sharper and more herbal than plain orange.

Aromatherapy wise, May Chang is known for uplifting the mood, clearing the mind, reducing fatigue, and promoting mental clarity & freshness.

It also has a “cleaning / refreshing” character — often used in blends to help freshen a room or “cleanse” the air (or mood) — which pairs well with the bright citrus.
