Known as the plant's physician, according to European folklore, german Chamomile is believed to be healing for the plants surrounding it. Farmers would witness the remedial influence of wilting plants. German Chamomile is incredibly sought out for it calming nature.

Health perks:

An anxiolytic; calming for the nervous sytem. Prepares the mind and body for better quality sleep, but just as well a sedative.

German Chamomile is a carminative that helps settle upset stomachs. A mild infusion is best used for infants with colic.

The flower can also be used as an emmenagogue, it guides individuals with disrupted cycles or issues with commencing a period. On the other hand, those with flowing mentrual cycles can utilise a hot brew for spasmodic relief during those cramping stages and pain.

A fantastic herb to use topically for any skin irritation, and this can again be used for infants/ children with nappy rashes or eczema flare ups.

To use, simply add a small handfull of flowers to a muslin sack or cotton sock and add to a hot bath (alternatively, use the loose herbs or teabags as a poultice). Oats can be added to create a soothing mixture altogether.

Internally (tea) or externally (bath soak or ointment), German Chamomile can be used to release stress from the muscles.
